How to choose a dog groomer in Warwick, Leamington and Rugby
Dog grooming is unregulated in the UK, so the checking is on you. This directory covers eight areas: Warwick, Royal Leamington Spa, Rugby town centre, Rugby south & Hillmorton, Stratford-upon-Avon, Southam & Wellesbourne, Alcester & Henley-in-Arden and Lutterworth. Read this before you pick a groomer.
Check how well the business is documented
Of the twenty-seven groomers listed here, nine were confirmed from a first-hand working website or another well-documented source (marked high confidence). The other eighteen are medium confidence, usually meaning the details come from a directory listing, a Facebook page, or a phone number filled in from Google's own business listing rather than found on the groomer's own site. None of the twenty-seven published here is low confidence: every business with too little confirmed detail, including several with no confirmed phone number at all, was left out rather than published on a guess.
Lutterworth is thin
Lutterworth (LE17) has only two confirmed groomers in this directory: The Dog Grooming Co, on Church Street, and the Ullesthorpe branch of The Bearded Pooch, at Palmers Garden Centre. That's plainly thinner coverage than the other seven areas. Other Lutterworth-area leads were checked during research and dropped for lack of a confirmed address or phone number, including Labourne Family Dog Grooming, whose only address lead pointed to Pro-Vale Pet Supplies, a pet shop that other research places at 11 Church Street, Lutterworth — the same address as The Dog Grooming Co, already listed here — and The Dog Barn Grooming in Husbands Bosworth. If you're in or near Lutterworth, it's worth calling both groomers listed here and also asking a groomer from a neighbouring area, such as Rugby, whether they cover your postcode.
A duplicate worth flagging
Two similarly-named Alcester-area businesses, Woofs of Wixford Dog Grooming & Pampering Salon and Wixford Woofs, turned up during research sharing the same phone number and the same Google Places record, despite being listed under two different village addresses. That's a strong sign they are the same business rather than two, so only Woofs of Wixford Dog Grooming & Pampering Salon is listed here; if you come across the name Wixford Woofs elsewhere, it is very likely the same salon.
A flagged possible closure
Poocilicious Dog Groomers, in Dunchurch, is listed here, but its own website's page title suggested it may currently be closed for maternity leave at the time of research. Call ahead before making a special trip.
Who was left out, and why
Research turned up several more leads that don't appear in this directory. Seven businesses were dropped for lack of a confirmed phone number, including TopTails and Bobby Dazzlers Dog Grooming, both of which had every phone number seen on a directory hidden behind a "reveal" button that never showed the full digits. Muddy Paws Dog Grooming Ltd, in Leamington Spa, still appears on one local business listing but was dissolved at Companies House in November 2024, so it was left out as apparently closed. The Pets at Home Groom Room branches in Rugby and Stratford-upon-Avon were excluded as national in-store chains, in line with this directory's standing policy. A handful of businesses based just outside the eight areas covered here, including Doggy Deluxe near Leicester and Handsome Hounds Grooming Salon in Studley, were excluded on location alone.
Qualifications
City & Guilds training is the qualification named most often: Posh Paws by Zoe (owner Zoe holds levels 1 to 3 in animal management and veterinary nursing), ThePoochPatch (every stylist at least Level 3), WoofCutz Mobile Grooming (trained to City & Guilds standard) and Gab's Paws'n'Claws (a City & Guilds dog grooming qualification gained with distinction, after studying Animal Welfare and Management) all cite it. Ask for the qualification by name if it matters to you.
One-to-one and home-based setups
Several groomers describe working with one dog at a time rather than a busy multi-dog salon floor: The Dog Studio (Paul, in Warwick), The Groomery (Ellie, in Cubbington, which also markets itself for anxious or previously traumatised dogs), Furrytale Grooming (Abbie, at Hatton Country World) and Grubby Paws Ltd (Hillmorton). If a calm, single-appointment setting matters for a nervous dog, these are worth asking about directly.
Mobile groomers
Five of the twenty-seven groomers here work from a van rather than a fixed salon: WoofCutz Mobile Grooming and Dial a Dog Wash Leamington and Warwick (both covering Leamington Spa and Warwick), Dog & Cat Grooming Colorful Tails Tina (Rugby, though she can't currently take large or heavy breeds because of a back problem), Dee Dogs (rural Warwickshire around Wellesbourne and Compton Verney) and Gab's Paws'n'Claws (Henley-in-Arden, travelling into Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwick and Redditch). If you need someone to come to you outside these rounds, ask a salon-based groomer whether they also travel.
Cats
The Dog Grooming Co, in Lutterworth, is the only business confirmed here for cat grooming alongside dogs. Everyone else listed is confirmed for dog grooming only.

None of the twenty-seven groomers in this directory currently carries a rating from an independent, linkable review source such as Google, Trustpilot, Fresha, Booksy or Yelp, so no star ratings are shown here. That isn't the same as having no reviews at all: ask to see recent work, a reference, or reviews on the groomer's own social media page before booking.
Where they are
Coverage is heaviest in Royal Leamington Spa (six), followed by Stratford-upon-Avon and Southam & Wellesbourne (four each), then Warwick, Rugby town centre and Rugby south & Hillmorton (three each), with Alcester & Henley-in-Arden and Lutterworth the thinnest at two confirmed groomers each. If you're in one of the thinner areas, the nearest well-documented option or a mobile groomer covering your postcode is worth trying first.
