Southborough Pet Groomers' groomers hold Ofqual-regulated Level 3 qualifications and belong to both the Pet Industry Federation and the British Dog Grooming Association. Scruffs of Sussex's groomer Jenny holds an iPet Level 3 Grooming Diploma. Ask for the qualification by name if it matters to you; most businesses listed here don't publish one at all.
One-to-one and home-based setups
A large share of this directory works from home rather than a shopfront salon: Hair&Hounds, Scruffy Paws Dog Grooming, Scruffs of Sussex, Detailed Dog, Rachael's Handsome Hounds, Bevs Dog House, Harriett's Dog Parlour, J D Pet Services, H.A Dog Grooming and Woof and Wash are all run from a home or farm address rather than a commercial unit. Love to Paws, in Kemsing, is explicitly one-to-one, working with one dog at a time in a garden salon, and offers a complimentary meet-and-greet before a dog's first booking. If a calm, single-appointment setting matters for a nervous dog, these are worth asking about directly.
Mobile groomers
Three of the 35 businesses here work from a van or come to you rather than from a fixed salon: 1-2-1 Dog Grooming, covering Paddock Wood and its surrounding villages (its own site asks customers to text rather than call, since the phone is often unattended mid-groom); Muddy Paws Mobile Dog Grooming, based in Framfield and covering the Uckfield area; and Scoobys Mobile Dog Grooming, based in Hurst Green, Etchingham, and covering a wide radius that includes Wadhurst, Ticehurst, Hawkhurst, Cranbrook, Lamberhurst and Goudhurst. Scoobys is a genuine multi-town operator: its actual base sits inside this directory's own Wadhurst, Ticehurst & Mayfield area, so it is listed there rather than duplicated under every area it covers, and it's worth confirming your own address is still within its current round when you call.
Small chains and multi-branch groomers
Dogwood Crowborough and Dogwood Uckfield are both branches of the same small grooming spa group, each with its own opening hours and named packages such as the Puppy Pamper and Dapper Dog groom, but following a set format across branches rather than being independently run. Tails of Westerham, based in Westerham itself, also grooms clients from Oxted and Edenbridge according to its own site, so its coverage reaches beyond its own area too.
Cats and other pets
Most businesses here are dog-only. Southborough Pet Groomers grooms dogs, cats and small pets, Tunbridge Wells Grooming Centre grooms both dogs and cats, and Hair&Hounds also describes itself as a dog and cat groomer. If you need a cat or small pet groomed, these three are the confirmed options in this directory; ask anyone else directly rather than assuming.
Who was left out, and why
One business with a confirmed address was left out for having no phone number found on any source checked: Smart Dogs Grooming in the Tunbridge Wells area. A later phone-lookup pass has since confirmed a number for three businesses previously excluded on this ground — Paws 4 Grooming in the Tunbridge Wells area, Dashing Hounds Grooming in Upper Hartfield, and Perfect Paws in Five Oak Green — and they are now listed above. Pets at Home's Groom Room branches at retail parks in Tunbridge Wells and Sevenoaks were excluded as a national chain. Perfect Pooches was excluded after its own website turned out to be a template lead-generation site, repeating the same text across separate pages for several unrelated towns and giving an address nowhere near the Cranbrook page it was found under.
