One to check before you call
The Spa Dog Grooming Service, in the Cannon Lane Retail Park in Tonbridge, sits at the same address as a Jollyes Pet Superstore found during research, so it may be a grooming concession inside or beside the superstore rather than a fully independent salon. Confirm by phone whether it's independent, along with what's on offer and the cost, before booking.

City & Guilds training comes up most often: Smart Pooches (qualified to the highest level, canine first-aid trained), Pluto's Parlour & Pets, Pooch's Palace (Level 2 and 3) and Auntie Jens' Dog Grooming (Level 3, pet first-aid certified and DBS checked) all cite it, as does Arthur's Dog Grooming's groomer Pauline (Level 3). Ask for the qualification by name if it matters to you.
Mobile groomers
Two of the 36 businesses here work from a van rather than a fixed salon: Pooch's Palace, run by groomer Kimmy and covering roughly a 15-mile radius of Sevenoaks including Tonbridge, Royal Tunbridge Wells and Edenbridge, and Sevenoaks Dog Grooming, whose owner trained after seven years as a dog walker. A further business, Bark & Whiskers, describes itself as mobile and home-based, covering several villages around Kemsing, without a fixed salon address either. If you need someone to come to you outside these rounds, ask a salon-based groomer whether they also travel.
One-to-one and home-based setups

Each is listed once here, with both phone numbers found recorded, since it isn't clear which is currently in use. Michelles Pet Grooming And Retail in Tatsfield also appears under a second name, Big In Pets, at the identical address with no phone number attached; it's treated as the same unit and listed once, under the name with a working number.
Cats and other animals
Beechin Wood Grooming For Cats & Dogs, in Platt village, grooms both cats and dogs. Everyone else in this directory is confirmed for dog grooming only.
Who was left out, and why
Six businesses researched for this town were left out, all for having no confirmed phone number: Milner & Hall Dog Grooming Company (Tonbridge), Happy Chaps (Ightham), Precious Paws Mobile Dog Grooming, Happy Dogs Grooming Workshop and Hadlow PIF Dog Grooming School & Salon (all Tonbridge area). Paws Holidays, in Westerham, was also left out: its address and phone are corroborated between two sources, but its domain no longer resolves on either .com or .co.uk, and nothing found during research confirms it is still trading, so it stays out of this listing for now.

Within Sevenoaks villages and Otford, coverage is spread thinly across small villages such as West Kingsdown, Ash, Seal and Platt rather than concentrated in Otford village itself, where no independent groomer with a fixed address was found. Within Edenbridge and Westerham, Edenbridge town (TN8) is thin, with only two businesses found, while the rest sit in and around Westerham, Biggin Hill and Tatsfield.
