How to choose a dog groomer in Rotherham
Dog grooming is unregulated in the UK, so the checking is on you. This page's 29 groomers span the whole borough, from a kennels-and-cattery business open 365 days a year to home-based, one-person operations found through a single directory listing. Read this before you pick one.
Check how well the business is documented
Of the 29 businesses here, four were confirmed from a working website plus at least one other source (marked high confidence): Jaycliffe Pets, Purrfect Pets, Walkworth Farm Dog Grooming and A Million Hairz Dog & Cat Grooming Parlour. Fourteen are medium confidence, usually meaning the details come from a directory listing, a second corroborating source, or a phone number confirmed through Google's own business records rather than the groomer's own working site. Eleven are low confidence, and each listing here says so plainly: their details come from search results only, so confirm by phone before booking.
A shared address that needs a call to sort out
Shihtzu Grooming Salon and Best Friend are both listed independently at the same Main Street address in Bramley, each with a different phone number. Rather than assume one is a mistake, both appear here as separate businesses, but this may be a directory error or two operators sharing one shop, so confirm by phone which business you're actually booking with. A'Woofley & Clean Dog Groomers, at a different Maltby address, has also traded under or alongside the name Rubies at the same unit; only A'Woofley & Clean is listed here to avoid double-counting one business twice. Mutts 'n' Mongrels has the same phone number recorded at two Maltby addresses; the more specific unit number is used here, with the second likely a stale listing. Purrfect Pets has one further address on a single source that looks like a stale duplicate of its main Broom Valley Road listing, so only the main address is shown. Scrooby Doo's postcode differs by one character between two sources; the more specific is used here.
Who was left out, and why
Six leads had a confirmed address but no phone number found anywhere independent, so were left out per this directory's rule of publishing only businesses with a confirmed phone: Wooldale Dog Grooming and Short Bark & Sides n Pet Supplies (both Rotherham centre), Doggy Treats Grooming and The Jolly Groomer (both Rotherham north), and AJ's Mobile Dog Grooming and Puppy Love Grooming Salon (both Maltby & Wickersley). A national in-store chain, Pets at Home's Groom Room at Parkgate, was seen and deliberately excluded, as was a charity welfare grooming service run from an animal centre outside the borough. A batch of template lead-generation sites with no address or named local operator were also excluded. One further lead, a dog walking and home-help service, was dropped because it doesn't offer grooming, and another, a Facebook page named after Rotherham, was left out because a separate listing places the same business in Mexborough, outside this page's coverage. Mobile groomers
Three of the 29 businesses here work from a van rather than a fixed salon: Stay and Sparkle (also offering dog walking and training), Rotherham Mobile Dog Groomer (cut-and-shampoo visits, based in Kilnhurst) and Dog.EE Grooming Lounge (based in Rawmarsh). A Million Hairz Dog & Cat Grooming Parlour grooms cats as well as dogs. Jaycliffe Pets, in Thurcroft, combines grooming with boarding kennels, a cattery and dog hydrotherapy on one site, open every day of the year. Muttley Grooming & Pet Supplies pairs grooming with a pet supplies shop at the same address. Everyone else in this directory is confirmed for dog grooming only.

Coverage is heaviest in Kimberworth & Rawmarsh and Maltby & Wickersley, with eight groomers confirmed in each, followed by Rotherham centre and Wath & Swinton with five each.
