When to start

None of the five publishes a fixed recommended age for a first visit, and the right time depends on a puppy's vaccination status and breed. General advice from vets and breeders is to start getting a puppy comfortable with brushing and having its paws and ears handled at home as soon as it arrives, and to book the first salon visit once vaccinations are complete.
