How to choose a dog groomer in Glasgow
Dog grooming is unregulated in the UK, so the checking is on you. Glasgow's twenty-three listed groomers range from long-established salons to home-based one-person operations found through a single directory or social media listing. Read this before you pick one.
No confirmed groomer in Glasgow centre or Merchant City
Despite the most search effort of any area covered here, no dog groomer with a confirmed G1-G4 address was found for Glasgow centre and Merchant City. The G1-G4 core is largely flats, offices and hospitality rather than the kind of residential streets that support a grooming salon, and groomers who market themselves as serving "Glasgow city centre" are consistently based well outside it. If you're in the city centre, the nearest well-documented options in this directory are in West End & Partick or Southside & Shawlands, both a short journey away; several groomers there, including Pampered Paws Glasgow and Creature Comforts Glasgow's Shawlands salon, describe themselves as serving the wider west or south of the city.
Two flagged address conflicts
Two pairs of businesses share an identical address under different names, and neither conflict could be resolved from the sources checked. At 25 Eaglesham Road, Clarkston, one directory names a business called Pawsh Paws at the same address used by Creature Comforts Glasgow's own website; it's listed here once, under Creature Comforts Glasgow, but confirm by phone which business you'll actually be booking. At 40 Glenburn Road, East Kilbride, a directory separately names Creighton Canines Dog Grooming (said to be IPET Level 3 qualified) at the same address recorded for Pams Paws Dog Grooming; it's listed here once, under Pams Paws, the name with an independently found phone number, but again, confirm by phone before you book.
Check how well the business is documented
Of the twenty-three businesses in this directory, nine were confirmed from a first-hand working website plus at least one other source (marked high confidence). Thirteen are medium confidence, usually meaning the details come from a directory listing, Facebook page or a single secondary source rather than the business's own working site. One, Pams Paws Dog Grooming, is low confidence: its listing carries the phone-confirmation note above.
Who was left out, and why
Three named businesses turned up in research but aren't listed here, all for the same reason: no confirmed phone number. Befur and After, a one-to-one mobile groomer in Easterhouse, is known only through an Instagram page with no phone listed anywhere. Doggone Grooms, in Westerton on the edge of Bearsden, is likewise known only through a Facebook page with no phone. Pawlished & Pampered, a mobile groomer based in Paisley that markets itself across Paisley, Renfrewshire, Bearsden and Clydebank, had several different phone numbers appear across directories, none independently confirmed, so it was left out rather than guessed at. Qualifications
City & Guilds training is named twice: The Pad's groomer in Hyndland, and Whistle & Bark's Cath in East Kilbride, who is also canine-first-aid trained. Creighton Canines, the business named in the Glenburn Road address conflict above rather than a separately listed business, is described elsewhere as IPET Level 3 qualified. Most other listings don't publish a groomer's qualifications at all, so ask directly if this matters to you.
One-to-one and home-based setups
The Pad in Hyndland takes one dog at a time and is fitted with ramps and low tables for older or less mobile dogs, with no drying cabinets. Whistle & Bark works from a home salon and also takes one dog at a time, small to medium breeds only. Pampered Pups in Dennistoun and Le Chien Grooming in Easterhouse both describe a one-to-one approach too. If a calm, single-appointment setting matters for an anxious dog, these are worth asking about directly.
Mobile groomers
Only one business in this directory is mobile rather than salon-based: Barney's Groom Room, covering Dalmuir, Faifley and Hardgate from a Clydebank base, with pick-up and drop-off available as a paid add-on. If you need someone to come to you outside that round, ask a salon-based groomer whether they also travel.
Cats and other animals
The Clip Joint Dog and Cat Grooming Centre in Paisley, trading for more than thirty years under Pam, grooms cats as well as dogs. Everyone else in this directory is confirmed for dog grooming only.
