When to start

None of the five publishes a fixed recommended age beyond LD Dog Grooming's own two-tier split by months, and the right time otherwise depends on the puppy's vaccination status and breed coat. Breeders and vets generally suggest getting a puppy used to brushing, paws and ears being handled at home from the day it arrives, then booking the first salon visit once vaccinations are complete and the puppy can safely be around other dogs.
