How to choose a dog groomer in Cornwall
Dog grooming is unregulated in the UK, so the checking is on you, and that matters more than usual here: this directory doesn't cover one town but eight separate market towns spread across the whole of Cornwall, Truro to Bude is nearly 60 miles, each with its own small cluster of independent groomers rather than one shared high street. Read this before you pick one.
Check how well the business is documented
Of the 50 businesses listed here, 17 were confirmed from a first-hand working website plus at least one other source (marked high confidence). Thirty-two are medium confidence, usually meaning the details come from an online listing, a Facebook page, or a Google Business profile rather than the business's own working site; several of these had no confirmed phone number until it was checked against the business's own Google listing. One, Ali's Dog Grooming, working from a farm at St Mawgan near Newquay Airport, is low confidence: it has a name, an approximate address and a phone number, but no postcode and no service or price detail could be confirmed, and its listing here says so plainly.
Names and addresses worth double-checking
Several records here carry a flagged mix-up rather than a silent merge. Foxies Dog Groomers, near Launceston, is shown at Jessamine Cottage in South Petherwin, but a second online listing gives a different address at Pennygillam Industrial Estate under the same phone number; confirm by phone which address is current before visiting. Sassy Fur Grooming, on Tregenna Hill in St Ives, appears elsewhere under a different name and phone number at the identical address, most likely an earlier trading name for the same premises. Lowen Kei Dog Grooming Studio, in Pool between Camborne and Redruth, is rendered as \"Lew's Dog Grooming Studio\" on one aggregator at the same address, almost certainly a garbled version of the same name. Borderland Dog Groomers, on Spar Lane in Redruth, is shown on one listing as \"Borderland / Bordercorner\", again the same premises under two spellings. The Dirty Dawg Pet Services was found via a listing titled for a Truro salon, but its own content gives a different groomer's name and a St Austell address; the page's own content is treated as correct here, and it's filed under St Austell, not Truro. Natural Touch Dog Grooming's own website gives a Sticker, St Austell address that differs from one earlier search summary; the business's own site is treated as current.
Who was left out, and why
Five businesses with an otherwise real-looking address were left out of this directory for lack of a confirmed phone number: Barking and Butch Dog Grooming (Truro), Jennifurrs (Pendeen, Penzance & St Ives), Scruffy t' Fluffy (St Ives), Curly's Cutz (Bodmin) and Lilly's Dog Grooming (Bude). A national chain, the Pets at Home Groom Room, was seen and excluded at four separate retail parks across Truro, Falmouth/Penryn, Camborne/Redruth and St Austell. Pooches Grooming Parlour Ltd, a Newquay lead, showed as dissolved at Companies House in November 2024 and was excluded rather than listed on stale information. A wider ring of otherwise-solid leads sat just outside this edition's eight coverage areas and were left out on postcode alone, including groomers in Helston, Hayle, Par, St Blazey, Fowey, Perranporth, Looe, Lostwithiel and Saltash (Saltash is already covered under Plymouth on this site).

One-to-one, home-based and specialist setups
Many of Cornwall's groomers work from home rather than a shop-front salon, which suits a one-dog-at-a-time appointment style: Little Wolves Dog Grooming in St Austell, trading since 2007, specialises in elderly and nervous dogs with a secure back garden for settling in; Pooch Parlour and The Cutty Bark both describe a one-to-one approach; and Natural Touch Dog Grooming uses what it calls the \"Hemene Approach\" alongside coat and skin health assessments aimed at a calmer visit.
Mobile groomers
Five of the 50 businesses here work from a van rather than a fixed base: Ali's Dog Grooming (Newquay area), Posh Paws Mobile Dog Grooming (covering the Camborne postcode), and Woof Woof!, Fur face and Scruffs2crufts, all three working around Launceston. If you need someone to come to you outside these rounds, ask a salon-based groomer whether they also travel; Designer Dogs, based in Penryn, already says it covers Penryn, Falmouth, Helston and Truro, and Little Wolves says its catchment stretches as far as Camborne, Redruth, Truro, Perranporth, St Dennis, Fowey, Bodmin and Tintagel.
