Coverage is uneven, and some areas are thin
Because publication depends on a confirmed phone number, coverage varies a great deal by area, and it's worth being upfront about where it's thin. Boston itself (PE20/PE21) has no phone-confirmed groomer listed here at all yet, despite giving the page its name. Old Leake & Stickney has just one, a mobile groomer. Skegness & Ingoldmells has two, and so does Spilsby, Wainfleet & Burgh le Marsh — and within that area, Wainfleet itself has no confirmed groomer of its own; both of the two are based in Orby and Spilsby. Horncastle & Woodhall Spa also has two. Mablethorpe & Alford has three, but all three are based in Sutton-on-Sea rather than in Mablethorpe or Alford themselves. Bourne & Market Deeping has three. Spalding & Holbeach is the best represented, with four. If you're in one of the thinner areas, it's worth checking neighbouring areas too, since several of the groomers listed travel.
Mobile groomers and multi-town coverage
Two of the 17 are mobile rather than salon-based: Cockapoo and Friends, based in Whaplode and covering Whaplode, Spalding and Holbeach, and Ultimutt Pawfection, based in Benington and covering the Old Leake & Stickney area. A few of the salon-based groomers also cover more ground than their own address suggests. Black Nose Grooming, in the village of Orby, says it covers Skegness, Orby, Alford, Spilsby, Ingoldmells and Chapel St Leonards. Katie's Pet Services is actually based in Coningsby, just outside the eight areas listed above, but its own website names Woodhall Spa and Horncastle among the places it serves, so it's listed under Horncastle & Woodhall Spa. If a groomer's base is some distance from you, it's always worth confirming by phone that your address is within its usual travel area before booking.

Several of the 17 publish a specific qualification or membership rather than just a general claim of experience. Posh Pooches Spalding's staff hold City & Guilds Level 3; Fur-Everfriends Holbeach and Waggy Tails Salon both have City & Guilds Level 2 and 3 qualified groomers; Jewels Dog Grooming Studio's groomer holds City & Guilds Level 3 and previously worked as a veterinary care assistant. Cockapoo and Friends holds Certified Professional Groomer and Certified Advanced Professional Groomer qualifications, plus canine first aid training and a DBS check, and belongs to both the Federation of Small Businesses and the British Isles Grooming Association. Deluxe Dog & Cat Grooming's owner has more than ten years' experience and a Golden Scissor award from an international grooming competition in 2022. Where a business doesn't mention a qualification here, it simply means none was published anywhere we checked, not that the groomer is unqualified — it's a fair question to ask by phone.
One-to-one and nervous-dog options
If your dog struggles with a busy salon, a couple of businesses specifically say they work one dog at a time. Doggyland Lilly, a home salon in Market Deeping, offers one-to-one appointments rather than several dogs in at once. Jewels Dog Grooming Studio, in Sutton on Sea, says it runs strictly one dog at a time with no shared holding areas. Waggy Tails Salon, in Bourne, says its groomers welcome nervous or anxious dogs specifically.
Reviews and ratings
No business on this page currently carries a star rating, because none has one from a source this directory treats as independently verifiable, such as a linked Google Maps profile. Pip's Parlour, in Spilsby, has built up more than 30 customer reviews on an online listing, and the groomer there, Alison, is specifically praised for working well with nervous dogs — but because that listing isn't one of the allowed sources, no star rating is shown for it here either.
