How much does dog grooming cost in Banbury and Bicester in 2026?

A groomer pointing out a price list on the counter to a waiting customer

Published pricing is the exception, not the rule, across this directory's 30 groomers spanning Banbury, Bicester, Bloxham & Adderbury, Chipping Norton, Brackley and Buckingham. Only two businesses publish a full price list: Whippet Off Dog Grooming by Eleanor, in Warmington near Adderbury, and Dairyground Paws Dog Grooming, in the village of Shutford near Banbury. This guide sets out exactly what each one charges, rather than guessing at the rest.

What the two price lists show

A basic wash, where published, starts at £30 to £32: Dairyground Paws' bubble and blow bath at £30, and Whippet Off's bath, brush and blow dry at £32. A full groom-equivalent service starts higher: Whippet Off's full groom is £44, while Dairyground Paws' deluxe groom, its flagship equivalent service, is £50, with de-shedding priced the same. Dairyground Paws also lists a hand-stripped groom, a slower, scissors-only technique used on wiry-coated breeds that aren't clipped, at £75, and ultrasonic teeth cleaning from £30 as a stand-alone add-on. Puppy grooms are cheaper at both businesses: £28 at Whippet Off, for dogs up to six months, and £40 at Dairyground Paws. Nail-only visits, where offered, are the cheapest single item on either list, at £10 to £15.

Why so few prices online

Most of the 30 businesses in this directory rely on a Facebook page, a bare listing in an online directory, or a phone number with no working website at all, which likely accounts for most of the silence on price. Several with their own working site, including Simply Paws Grooming, The Ruffinery and WinSome Wags Dog Grooming, still ask you to call rather than publishing figures. Home-based, one-to-one salons in particular tend to quote a price once they've seen your dog's size, breed and coat condition, rather than working from a fixed list. Ask for a price, or an estimate based on your dog's size and coat, before booking anywhere else in this directory.

What this suggests

Two data points from a directory of 30 aren't enough to fix a "typical" Banbury and Bicester price, but they do suggest a rough shape: a basic wash from around £30, a full groom-equivalent from the mid-£40s to £50, and hand-stripping, a specialist and time-consuming technique, priced well above a standard clip at £75. Coat condition, breed size and how matted a dog is before its appointment will move any of these figures, so treat them as a starting point for the call, not a quote.
